title: "Art Meets Nature: Why We’re Obsessed with the Muse Collection’s Metalwork"
description: "According to designer Ori Goldberg, \"the Muse is a celebration of organic imperfection allowing light and shadow to breathe and define the form.” This Collection features delicate open metalwork that evokes interpretations from monarch butterfly wings to complex webs, showcasing the artisan's hand through intricate openings and connectors. Thick, textured glass with unique internal crackle effects creates luminous focal points for the metal to cast captivating shadows. Selectable color temperature (2700/3000/4000K) allows customization for any ambiance. Available in all standard interior finishes, the Muse collection balances artistic expression with functional versatility, celebrating craftsmanship and the beauty of imperfection."

# Art Meets Nature: Why We’re Obsessed with the Muse Collection’s Metalwork

 By [Hubbardton Forge](https://blog.hubbardtonforge.com/author/hubbardton-forge)

When we think about lighting, we usually focus on the bulb or the glow. But designer **Ori Goldberg** is flipping the script with the **Muse Collection**. His philosophy? "Organic imperfection." In this collection, the metal isn't just a frame—it’s the main character, designed to let light and shadow "breathe" in a way that feels totally alive.

##### A Masterclass in Intricate Metalwork

The real magic of Muse lies in its delicate, open metalwork. It’s rare to find a fixture that feels both sturdy and ethereal, but Goldberg nails it. The patterns are intentionally complex, evoking different things for different people:

- **Nature-Inspired:** To some, the silhouettes look like the fragile, symmetrical veins of **monarch butterfly wings**.
- **Architectural Edge:** To others, it looks like a **complex web** or a piece of modern lace.

Because the openings and connectors are so intricate, you can actually see the "artisan’s hand" in every piece. It clearly didn't roll off an assembly line; it is a sculpture that was meticulously created.

##### Playing with Shadows

The metalwork doesn't just look good on its own—it’s designed to perform. Instead of blocking the light, the openings and connectors act as a filter. When the light passes through the thick, crackled glass focal points, the metal frame catches it and throws **captivating shadows** across your room.

It turns your walls into a canvas, making the atmosphere feel layered and textured rather than just "bright."

---

##### Art Meets Function

While the metalwork is the star of the show, the collection is built for real-life homes. You get all the "artsy" vibes without sacrificing the tech:

- **The Right Light:** Use the selectable color temperature (2700K, 3000K, or 4000K) to determine your desired ambiance—warm and cozy or sharp and dramatic.
- **Your Signature Finish:** Whether you want the metal to stand out or blend in, it’s available in all standard interior finishes.

##### Final Thoughts

The Muse Collection is a celebration of craftsmanship. It’s proof that when you pay attention to the "connectors" and the "imperfections" in metalwork, you end up with something far more beautiful than a standard light fixture.
